I'm excited to share that Takeout Kit turns 3 this weekend! We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings. Back in the day, as soon as an order came in I would personally assemble each kit, hand-write the ingredient labels, hand stamp each box with our logo, and drive it to the local post office. It was a hustle back in those days and it still is! I am grateful every day that I get to do what I love and share the world’s best food through our products. I have met some amazing suppliers, chefs, and customers through this experience, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
We wouldn’t be where we are today without the best customers in the WORLD – YOU! Thank you for continuing to shop small and support an independent woman-owned company. Thank you for spreading the word to your friends and family and for trying new dishes and ingredients that you may not have tried otherwise (no matter how strange pickled mustard greens or fermented bean paste might seem!). Thank you for trusting us to be your go-to for adventurous cooking!
We’ve “served” hundreds of thousands of meals meals during that time! And many of those people are trying global cuisine for the VERY first time. We have some young aspiring chefs in the mix which we always love to hear about! Takeout Kits have traveled to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, military bases around the world, and on an RV tour across the United States. They’ve helped bridge the gap for long-distance couples, friends, and relatives. They’ve given a piece of adventure back to an elderly woman who loved to travel in her younger years. They’ve provided an excuse for friends to get together for monthly dinner parties, a quick and fuss-free dinner for new parents, taught a grad student how to cook mapo tofu like her grandmother used to make, and provided a unique wedding party gift from a couple known for their wanderlust.
These stories from our customers are truly what keeps us going. We can’t wait to see what where we take each other next!
